UFC 304: Edwards vs Muhammad 2 Preliminary Card Odds & Predictions
UFC 304: Edwards vs. Muhammad 2 odds are courtesy of BetOnline as of Friday, July 26 at 10:22 a.m. ET.
Nathaniel Wood vs. Daniel Pineda — Featherweight
- Record: Nathaniel Wood (19-6) vs. Daniel Pineda (28-15, 3 NC)
- Moneyline: Nathaniel Wood (-400) | Daniel Pineda (+300)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-170) | Under (+140)
- Most likely method of victory: Wood via KO/TKO (+180)
- Last 10 fights: Wood — 7-3 | Pineda — 5-2, 3 NC
Here’s a fight where I won’t exactly overthink things. Nathaniel Wood is coming off a hard-fought unanimous decision loss to Muhamamd Naimov in October, however, he’s still 4-2 in his last six fights. The same can’t be said for Daniel Pineda, who’s won just two of five outings since making his UFC debut.
While Wood is a solid striker, I see him winning via points instead considering how each of his last four victories came via UD. Meanwhile, Pineda is 0-6 when his fights reach the distance.
Wood vs. Pineda prediction: Nathaniel Wood
Best Wood vs. Pineda bet: Wood via points (+235)

Molly McCann vs. Bruna Brasil — Women’s Strawweight
- Record: Molly McCann (14-6) vs. Bruna Brasil (9-4-1)
- Moneyline: Molly McCann (-320) | Bruna Brasil (+270)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-150) | Under (+120)
- Most likely method of victory: McCann via points (+135)
- Last 10 fights: McCann — 6-4 | Brasil — 8-2
After suffering back-to-back submission losses, Molly McCann made her strawweight debut with a submission victory over Diana Belbita five months ago. She now goes up against Bruna Brasil, who’s lost two of three fights since making her company debut.
While Brasil has the size advantage, McCann’s experience gives her the edge here. There’s also the fact that McCann nearly doubles Brasil’s striking output, which is bad news for the latter as she was outhit in each of her last two losses.
Considering how Brasil has been knocked out three times, I’m taking the favorite to win inside the distance.
McCann vs. Brasil prediction: Molly McCann
Best McCann vs. Brasil bet: McCann to win inside the distance (+140)
Caolan Loughran vs. Jake Hadley — Bantamweight
- Record: Caolan Loughran (9-1) vs. Jake Hadley (10-3)
- Moneyline: Caolan Loughran (-210) | Jake Hadley (+180)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-255) | Under (+205)
- Most likely method of victory: Loughran via points (-115)
- Last 10 fights: Loughran — 9-1 | Hadley — 7-3
It’s safe to say that Jake Hadley’s UFC run hasn’t gotten off to a strong start as he’s lost three of his first five fights, including the last two via unanimous decision. Although Caolan Loughran stumbled in his debut, he rebounded with a UD victory over Angel Pacheco at UFC on ESPN 54, improving his career record to 9-1 in the process.
Even though it’s Hadley’s home country, Loughran will walk over him this weekend. The 28-year-old Irishman has all of the momentum on his side and is also the bigger competitor with better defense across the board. Hadley knows how to avoid being finished, though, so back the favorite to win via points.
Loughran vs. Hadley prediction: Caolan Loughran
Best Loughran vs. Hadley bet: Loughran via points (-115)
Modestas Bukauskas vs. Marcin Prachnio — Light Heavyweight
- Record: Modestas Bukauskas (15-6) vs. Marcin Prachnio (17-7)
- Moneyline: Modestas Bukauskas (-148) | Marcin Prachnio (+128)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-155) | Under (+125)
- Most likely method of victory: Bukauskas via points (+155)
- Last 10 fights: Bukauskas — 6-4 | Prachnio — 5-5
After a 2-0 start to his second UFC stint, Modestas Bukauskas was brought back down to earth with a KO loss to Vitor Petrino in November. Marcin Prachnio might be the betting underdog here, but you can argue that he has more momentum with four victories in his last six outings.
The odds might be against him, but I’m still going with a Prachnio upset. Not only has he found more recent success against tougher opponents than Bukauskas has faced, but the 36-year-old Polish competitor has better striking and grappling numbers than his counterpart. With that being said, we’ll stick with an outright bet.
Bukauskas vs. Prachnio prediction: Marcin Prachnio
Best Bukauskas vs. Prachnio bet: Prachnio ML (+128)

Oban Elliott vs. Preston Parsons — Welterweight
- Record: Oban Elliott (10-2) vs. Preston Parsons (11-4)
- Moneyline: Oban Elliott (+122) | Preston Parsons (-142)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-140) | Under (+110)
- Most likely method of victory: Parsons via points (+235)
- Last 10 fights: Elliott — 8-2 | Parsons — 7-3
Here’s a UFC 304 prelim bout between two welterweights who are hungry to win. Oban Elliott is ready for his next big test after defeating Valentine Woodburn at UFC 298. He now gets to take on an experienced opponent in Preston Parsons, who has two wins in his last three fights and just edged out Matthew Semelsberger back in January.
I’m not a huge fan of betting on this fight, so let’s keep it simple by predicting it will go the distance. Not only are both fighters proficient grapplers, but each of Elliott’s last five fights went the distance while Parsons’ last three outings did the same.
Elliott vs. Parsons prediction: Oban Elliott
Best Elliott vs. Parsons bet: Fight to go the Distance — Yes (-115)
Muhammad Mokaev vs. Manel Kape — Flyweight
- Record: Muhammad Mokaev (12-0, 1 NC) vs. Manel Kape (19-6)
- Moneyline: Muhammad Mokaev (-161) | Manel Kape (+141)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-200) | Under (+160)
- Most likely method of victory: Mokaev via points (+165)
- Last 10 fights: Mokaev — 9-0, 1 NC | Kape — 7-3
Muhammad Mokaev has yet to taste defeat in his four-year MMA career and now heads into UFC 304 on a seven-fight winning streak following a UD win over Alex Perez. Having said that, Manel Kape shouldn’t be underestimated considering that he’s won each of his last four fights — including two via knockout.
Even though both fighters are capable of winning, I’ll stick with Mokaev. He’s undefeated for a reason and continues to find ways to win. I think he’ll do the same this weekend, however, it’ll like take reaching the distance to do so given that Kape hasn’t been finished in nearly seven years.
Mokaev vs. Kape prediction: Muhammad Mokaev
Best Mokaev vs. Kape bet: Mokaev via points (+165)
Sam Patterson vs. Kiefer Crosbie — Welterweight
- Record: Sam Patterson (11-2-1) vs. Kiefer Crosbie (10-4)
- Moneyline: Sam Patterson (-425) | Kiefer Crosbie (+325)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (+152) | Under (-182)
- Most likely method of victory: Patterson via submission (-140)
- Last 10 fights: Patterson — 8-1-1 | Crosbie — 8-2
Sam Patterson is the heavy favorite here and it isn’t tough to see why given that he’s 7-1 in his last eight fights. Meanwhile, Kiefer Crosbie has seen better days. The 34-year-old Irish veteran debuted with a first-round submission loss to Kevin Joussett in September, dropping him to 2-3 in his last five fights.
Considering how it took less than five minutes for Crosbie to fall via submission, take Patterson to win in that same matter. Six of his first 11 career wins came via submission, including when he submitted Yohan Lainesse in 2:03 earlier this year.
Patterson vs. Crosbie prediction: Sam Patterson
Best Patterson vs. Crosbie bet: Patterson via submission (-140)

Mick Parkin vs. Lukasz Brzeski — Heavyweight
- Record: Mick Parkin (9-0) vs. Lukasz Brzeski (9-4-1, 1 NC)
- Moneyline: Mick Parkin (-350) | Lukasz Brzeski (+285)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-170) | Under (+140)
- Most likely method of victory: Parkin via points (+115)
- Last 10 fights: Parkin — 9-0 | Brzeski — 5-3-1, 1 NC
Don’t overthink this fight, whatever you do. Mick Parkin is not only undefeated, but he’ll also have the crowd’s support on his side as he returns to his home country. While Lukasz Brzeski is coming off a win, it came against the unproven Valter Walker. That’s without mentioning how the Polish underdog also lost three consecutive bouts before that win.
Brzeski has good cardio and knows how to hang in there, though, so it’s more likely that Parkin wins via points. After all, each of his first three UFC fights went the distance.
Parkin vs. Brzeski prediction: Mick Parkin
Best Parkin vs. Brzeski bet: Parkin via points (+115)
Shauna Bannon vs. Alice Ardelean — Women’s Strawweight
- Record: Shauna Bannon (5-1) vs. Alice Ardelean (8-5)
- Moneyline: Shauna Bannon (-185) | Alice Ardelean (+160)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-210) | Under (+170)
- Most likely method of victory: Bannon via points (-110)
- Last 10 fights: Bannon — 5-1 | Ardelean — 6-4
This UFC 304 early prelim bout is a bit tougher to predict. Shauna Bannon began her MMA career with a 5-0 start, however, she fell to Bruna Brasil in her UFC debut last July. Conversely, Alice Ardelean is making her debut on the back of a five-fight winning streak that saw her finish four of those opponents.
Even though she’s coming off a loss, I’ll take Bannon to rebound. There’s a reason why it took Ardelean over 10 years to reach the UFC and she’s going to learn the hard way that the elevated competition is no joke. It could end up being a competitive bout between two women with a lot to prove, so let’s go with a decision win.
Bannon vs. Ardelean prediction: Shauna Bannon
Best Bannon vs. Ardelean bet: Bannon via points (-110)
