After a ton of controversy, UFC 303 is finally arriving this weekend. The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s latest pay-per-view takes over T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday with a card that’s headlined by a light heavyweight championship bout between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka.

Joe Pyfer vs. Marc-André Barriault — Middleweight

• Record: Joe Pyfer (12-3)  vs. Marc-André Barriault (16-7, 1 NC)
• Moneyline: Joe Pyfer (-285) | Marc-André Barriault (+245)
• Round total: 2.5 — Over (+100) | Under (-130)

It’s hard to go against oddsmakers here when Joe Pyfer has been on a roll ahead of UFC 303. Yes, he’s coming off a hard-fought loss to Jack Hermansson in February, but let’s not forget that Pyfer finished five consecutive opponents before that loss. Marc-André Barriault is a solid veteran, but he hasn’t exactly been beating noteworthy opponents and has finished two in his last six outings.

Props are unavailable for now, so let’s go with Under 2.5 total rounds. After all, the Under is 12-1 in Pyfer’s last 13 bouts.

Cub Swanson vs. Andre Fili — Featherweight

• Record: Cub Swanson (29-13)  vs. Andre Fili (23-11, 1 NC)

Even though the odds are one-sided, I could see this fight going either way. Swanson is 4-2 in his last six fights, but hasn’t stepped in the octagon since August 2023 and is now 40 years old. Meanwhile, Andre Fili has fought to mixed results, going 2-4 with a no-contest in his last seven fights, and is coming off a first-round KO loss to Dan Ige.

I’d avoid betting on this fight altogether, however, back the Under on the 2.5-round total if you want to get in on the action. Not only is the Under 3-2 in Swanson’s last five fights but it’s also 4-2 in Fili’s six previous outings.

Swanson vs. Fili Prediction: Andre Fili

Charles Jourdain vs. Jean Silva — Featherweight

This featherweight bout has some show-stealing potential. Charles Jourdain is a battle-proven veteran who’s looking to rebound from a split-decision loss to Sean Woodson while Jean Silva is aiming for his 10th consecutive win after TKO’ing Westin Wilson in his UFC debut.

I’m taking the underdog to win this bout. While Jourdain has more experience and is slightly bigger, Silva is the better grappler of the two and hasn’t lost a fight in over six years. Sparks should fly as the 27-year-old continues his hot streak.

Payton Talbott vs. Yanis Ghemmouri — Bantamweight

Payton Talbott is the biggest favorite on the UFC 303 card as his -1800 moneyline odds carry an implied win probability of 94.8%. He’s finished seven of his eight opponents thus far and improved to 2-0 on his UFC run with a TKO win over Cameron Saaiman in March.

After Yanis Ghemmouri was TKO’d by William Gomis in his debut, it’s clear that we shouldn’t expect an upset. Three of Talbott’s last four fights reached Round 3, though, making the Over the best bet here.

Michelle Waterson-Gomez vs. Gillian Robertson — Women’s Strawweight

• Record: Michelle Waterson-Gomez (18-12)  vs. Gillian Robertson (13-8)

Upsets are a part of sports, but I don’t expect one in this UFC 303 fight. Michelle Waterson-Gomez deserves to be the underdog after losing six of her last seven fights and each of the last four in a row, including a second-round TKO loss to Marina Rodriguez back in September.

Gillian Robertson isn’t perfect, but she’s in a better spot to win with four victories in her last six outings — including when she TKO’d Polyana Viana to earn ‘performance of the night’ honors at UFC 297.

Waterson-Gomez vs. Robertson Best Bet: Gillian Robertson ML (-172)

Andrei Arlovski vs. Martin Buday — Heavyweight

• Round total: 2.5 — Over (-185) | Under (+155)

Andrei Arlovski’s best days are firmly in the past as he heads to UFC 303 following three consecutive losses, including two via knockout/submission. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion now has to deal with Martin Buday, who’s hungry to win after being knocked out by Shamil Gaziev less than seven months ago.

Arlovski needs to hang up the gloves at this point because the 45-year-old no longer belongs in the cage. Three of Buday’s last five fights went the distance, though, while seven of Arlovski’s last 10 did the same, making the Over the best available betting option.

Rei Tsuruya vs. Carlos Hernandez — Flyweight

Here’s another fight that I won’t overthink. While the debuting Rei Tsuruya is 9-0 to begin his MMA career, Carlos Hernandez has already been finished twice through his first three UFC fights and doesn’t look like he belongs in the promotion.

With an 88.9% finish rate to his name, I see Tsuruya ending things early.

Ricky Simon vs. Vinicius Oliveira — Bantamweight

• Record: Ricky Simon (20-5)  vs. Vinicius Oliveira (20-3)

• Round total: 2.5 — Over (-110) | Under (-120)

Vinicius Oliveira debuted with a win over Bernando Sopai in March, earning his third consecutive knockout victory in the process. He now is set to face Ricky Simon, who desperately needs a win after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in five years.

Even though Simon has more experience, I’m going with an upset. Oliveira has solid potential and has the perfect opportunity to catch his opponent in the middle of a slump. It won’t be easy, but sprinkling some money on an Oliveira upset is worth it.
