Philadelphia Phillies vs Boston Red Sox, Prediction, Odds & Best Bets (6/12)
We’ve got two northeast teams taking on one another in the famous Fenway Park, as the Boston Red Sox host the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of this 3 game series. This series is the only time in which these teams will see each other this year, and the Phillies could seal the series victory with a win tonight.
Yesterday, Philadelphia beat Boston 4-1. Kyle Schwarber has a pair of home runs, one in the 1st and one in the 5th, and Zack Wheeler pitched 7 fantastic innings. He allowed just 1 run on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts along the way. Today, we have lefty Christopher Sanchez for the Phillies while the Red Sox toss out Nick Pivetta.

Can Sanchez Shove Against Red Sox?
Can Christopher Sanchez stay hot on the mound for the Phillies?
The Phillies are no doubt the hottest team in baseball this year. Their 46-20 record leads the National League, they are 10 games ahead in the NL East, and have 3 starters pitching like Cy Young candidates. Ironically, their pitcher tonight is not one of those three, however he has been shoving recently, and I expect him to do the same.
Philadelphia is 8-2 in their L10 games and 19-10 on the road this season, and like I said, I expect Sanchez to shove. He’s made 12 starts this season, and has pitched lights out in his last 4. In those L4 starts, Sanchez has started 2 at home and 2 on the road.
In those L4 starts, Sanchez has his ERA drop from 2.71 to 1.49, and his WHIP from 1.34 to 1.08. The Red Sox bats hits .245 as a team and against LHP, but that number does drop down to .235 at Fenway Park, where they are just 14-19 on the season. They are also arguably in a bit of a slump, as they’ve lost 3 of their L4, and 5 of their L8, two of those to the Chicago White Sox.
Ultimately, I think the Phillies are a much more focused team, and even being on the road, I’ll back them for a greta price.

Best Bet: Phillies ML (-111) BetOnline
The Phillies?! At -111?!? In this economy?! Yeah, I’m hopping on board.
The closest line on the market is (-120) with the consensus being closer to (-125), meaning we are getting over 10 cents of value on this play. The Phillies’ bats rank 6th in the MLB hitting .254, jump up to 5th hitting .257 on the road, and only dropping to .249 against right handed pitching.
Nick Pivetta is coming off an incredible start. He pitched 7 shutout innings against Atlanta, giving up just 1 hit and 2 walks. Prior to that, he lost two straight starts, giving up 7 runs on 10 hots in just 8.2 innings combined. This is a bit of a toss up for me, but with the pitching matchup and the price tag, it’s an autobet for me.
