NCAA Football Early Power Rankings & CFP Title Odds

With the long expected release of NCAA Football 25 on various video game consoles, the first edition in over a decade, it’s never too early to check out the way too early odds to win the College Football Championship, as well as odds to make the new 12 team playoff.

Yes, we’ve got a brand new format for crowning a Champion in College Football, and along with it, EA Sports brought back one of the best video game series of all time. The game releases tonight and nearly every young adult male will be hooked playing this game in preparation for the NCAA Football season we have in front of us.

Football season is quickly approaching and will be here before we know it. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some way too early Power Rankings and Championship odds.

NCAA Football Power Rankings

This is EA Sports first college themed game since 2014

Now, we do not currently have an official Top 25 ranking for teams in College Football this year, but how close do you think EA Sports did in terms of their power rankings?

In the new game, these are the Top 25 teams in order. Did they miss anyone?

This list is clearly up for debate, but I’m sure the Week 0 rankings will look somewhat similar. But what about the betting odds?

We see a plethora of SEC teams dominating the odds board to win the entire thing, but there are some big names left off the list that EA Sports clearly favorites (looking at you Colorado). It will be interesting to see how these teams perform over the course of the season and if that reflects how good they are in the virtual world.

Updated College Football Playoff Format

Can Carson Beck lead Georgia to an SEC Championship?

The College Football Playoff now features 12 teams competing in bracket style play. The Top four teams will consist of the Top 4 Conference Champions, seeded 1 through 4, all receiving a 1st round bye. Teams seeded 5 through 12 will play each other in the first round on the home field of the higher seed.

The Quarterfinals will be played on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the Semifinals on Thursday and Friday of the next week, with the National Championship being played a week from the following Monday. An extended postseason never hurt anybody, right?

With the opened field, here are the odds to make the 12 team format.

The list goes on, and on, but a conference championship game appearance more than likely solidifies being in the 12 team bracket. As we fire up our consoles to plan our own Road to Glory, let’s remember the real college football season is less than two months away!
