Mariners @ Dodgers Analysis & Breakdown

The performance of The Royals this season has surpassed even the loftiest expectations. With a record of 70-55 this year, and an impressive home record of 39-25, Kansas City is only two games behind the Guardians for the top spot in the division.

KC ranks 3rd in runs per game at home this year, averaging 5.27 runs per game and they’ve recorded a 0.270 team batting average at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have been good on the road, but they’ve been GREAT in front of the home crowd.

It’s been the MVP-like season by their young stud, Bobby Witt Jr. that’s really set the Royals apart. He’s posted a 0.349 batting average this year with 25 home runs and 91 RBI.

There isn’t a lot to discuss regarding the Angels. Their star player, Mike Trout, has unfortunately been absent for most of the season due to injury, leaving the team in a dismal state. He hasn’t been on the field since late May and it doesn’t appear he’ll return this season.

The Angels currently hold a 53-72 record, with an average of just below 4 runs per game and are ranked 22nd in team batting average. The situation is expected to deteriorate further for the Angels prior to any improvement.
