Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix Predictions & Picks: Will Leclerc Finally Make History?
In 1931, Louis Chiron won the third edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, piloting his Bugatti to victory at his home circuit in what is now one of the premier events on the annual Formula 1 calendar.
Since then, no Monegasque driver has won the race. Will today be the day that the drought is broken?
In 2021 and 2022, Charles Leclerc took pole at his home circuit, only to see a Red Bull driver come away with the victory. In 2021, Leclerc wasn’t even able to start the race due to a driveshaft issue, and Max Verstappen went on to win. The next year, the Ferrari driver didn’t even reach the podium, finishing fourth behind Sergio Perez, Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz Jr., and Verstappen, thanks in no small part to a major pit strategy error a little over a quarter into the race.
This year, Leclerc has picked a fine time to claim pole for the first time since last season’s Las Vegas Grand Prix and end Verstappen’s run of nine consecutive poles. Will the third time finally be the charm? Or is more home heartbreak ahead?

Monaco Grand Prix Predictions & Picks
This is a rare opportunity to get some decent value on Verstappen, who will start sixth in today’s race.
Can he turn his weekend around and at least end up on the podium even if he isn’t able to pick up his sixth win of the season? Circumstances aren’t favorable given the circuit, but at +180 (at BetOnline) for a top-three finish and +325 for a top-two finish, the investment is worthwhile merely because it will be one of the only times this Formula 1 season that such odds are available for Verstappen.
Will both Ferrari cars prosper today? Sainz, who will start third, is -125 for a top-three finish and +200 for a top-two finish. Given where he will start, his top-three finish odds are also too good to pass up.
Is there a strong possibility that Ferrari, whether by their own design or the universe’s cruel sense of humor, will end up having some sort of disaster involving either Sainz, Leclerc, or both? Absolutely.
But we try to deal in optimism here, and the optimistic outlook envisions a double-podium day and a historic victory for Leclerc, who is seeking his first Formula 1 win since the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix.
