Copa America 2024 Semifinals, Colombia vs Uruguay: Predictions & Best Bets
Colombia and Uruguay meet up in the 2024 Copa America Semifinals with a date against Argentina on the line. Neither team has been to the Title Match in quite some time, however both teams won the whole thing the last time they were there. Colombia won back in 2001, and Uruguay won it in 2011, but tonight one is guaranteed to have a shot at lifting the trophy.
Both squads handled business in the Group Stage, winning their groups with ease. Colombia beat Paraguay and Costa Rica to open play, and played Brazil to a 1-1 draw to secure the top of the group. In the Quarterfinals, Colombia beat down Panama, 5-nil, showing no mercy at all. Uruguay had a similar story, but they won all 3 of their group stage games, allowing just 1 goal to Panama along the way. They had a much tougher Quarterfinal matchup against Brazil, whom they played to a nil-nil draw, advancing on PKs.
And here we are, with two Top 15 world ranked teams facing off with a chance to play the world number 1 in the Copa America Title. Will it be Uruguay or Colombia trying to take down Messi and Argentina on Sunday?

How Far Can Nunez and Uruguay Advance?
Nunez and Uruguay have not seen the Copa America Title Match since winning it all in 2011
Uruguay is tied with Argentina for most Copa America Titles of all time at 15 a piece, and it would be to sweet to take a lead by defeating them in the Final match. However, they must get by Colombia first. Now, both these teams have looked solid, but Uruguay has looked a bit more explosive in my opinion. They scored 9 goals during group stage, netting 3 and 5 in singular matches. Colombia has scored in every match so far this tournament, and even though they have only conceded two goals, they will really be tested tonight.
Colombia allowed a Vini-less Brazilian team to score against them but did battle back to draw and top the group. While Uruguay was not able to score on Brazil, and didn’t beat Panama as badly as Colombia did, I think their offense clicks tonight. Aside from Argentina, I have been most impressed with this Uruguayan squad and their ability to score at will. They create very difficult chances and have played extremely solid defense. While I trust both offenses, I side with Uruguay’s defense a little more, and think they pull this one out. It doesn’t surprise me that they are slight favorites, but instead of backing them, I have something else in mind.
And let me tell you, it’s out of character.

Now I am the “Pay the Juice” guy, and I’m also an “Unders on the Pitch” guy, but we are taking some plus money for this over tonight. This game will go straight to PKs after 90 minutes if tied, but it would be a 90 minute bet regardless, and as you can see, we have some push potential.
Uruguay scored 8 goals in their opening two matches but have only netted 1 in their past two. Against this Colombian team, I think they come out aggressive, knowing it should take 2 goals to win this match. Coming off a goose egg, I see them netting at least 2 by themselves. As for Colombia, they are coming off a 5 goal outing, they’ve scored 11 in 4 matches in the Copa America, and they were arguably playing conservative against Brazil in their final Group Stage match where they only netted one.
Point being, I think we see a 2-1 Uruguayan victory tonight, or even a 2-2 draw going to PKs. If you’d like, Both Teams to Score is +100 which is a bet I almost took before deciding to ride this over. I see both teams scoring and one of them netting two before the ref blows his final whistle.
