Naresddine Nabi, the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, is frustrated with the stubbornness of his PSL counterparts in the transfer window as selling fees for Amakhosi surge.

Amakhosi has allocated R50 million, plus an additional R10 million for emergencies, yet the Kaizer Chiefs have only managed to sign five players, one of whom was a free agent. The question arises – what exactly is happening with the recruitment department at Amakhosi, led by sports director Kaizer Motaung Jr?

Newly appointed head coach Nabi is experiencing frustration. He is aware that there is a budget available and ready for use, yet he accuses PSL teams of being unwilling to sell their players to them. There’s a longstanding belief that smaller teams tend to hike up their prices when high-end teams show interest.

More often than not, the staggering transfer tags placed on players turn teams like Chiefs away – but with the reported R60 million set aside to bolster the squad, surely Amakhosi can land at half a dozen quality players ahead of the start of the 2024-25 PSL season. GOAL looks at the transfer dealings at Amakhosi.
