August 20, 2020 – The Islanders eliminate the Washington Capitals 4-1 in the best-of-seven First Round of 2020 NHL Playoffs with a 4-0 win in Game 5 at Scotiabank Arena in the Toronto bubble.

Anthony Beauvillier’s two-goal contribution, both assists credited to Josh Bailey, fueled the Islanders’ decisive series-clinching victory. Bailey ended the match with three points (1G, 2A), while Nick Leddy also scored in the Islanders’ 4-0 triumph. The shutout and series clincher were secured by Semyon Varlamov, who made 21 saves.

In the series, Bailey was the leading scorer for the Islanders with six points (2 goals, 4 assists). Beauvillier and Anders Lee each scored three goals, which was the team’s highest. Varlamov had a record of 4-1, with a 1.59 goals against average, a .935 save percentage and one shutout.
