Vikings WR Jordan Addison arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Friday near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the California Highway Patrol confirmed to NFL.com on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Communications Center was informed of a stranded vehicle on I-105 around 11:06 p.m. PT on Friday. Upon arrival, a CHP officer noticed a white Rolls-Royce obstructing traffic lanes with Addison found sleeping at the wheel. After conducting a DUI investigation, Addison was taken into custody at 11:36 p.m., and was released on Saturday at 1:36 a.m.
“The Vikings have acknowledged the recent arrest of Jordan Addison that occurred last Friday. They are presently collecting more details about the incident,” according to a statement obtained by Tom Pelissero, NFL Network Insider.
The incident occurred less than a week after Addison’s teammate, Khyree Jackson, and two others were killed in a car crash in which alcohol was possibly a contributing factor, according to Maryland State Police investigators.
This is also the second consecutive offseason Addison has encountered a legal issue on the road. In July 2023, he was cited for speeding and reckless driving by the Minnesota State Patrol for going 140 mph in a 55 mph zone.
At 22, Addison was chosen as the 23rd overall pick from USC by the Vikings in the 2023 NFL Draft. He finished his debut NFL season with 70 catches, 911 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.
