Seahawks Draft Notes

Since 2010

– 127 total players drafted

13 selections were made to the Pro Bowl with Seattle, including 5 players who made it to the Pro Bowl 4 or more times with Seattle.

– 5 First-Team All-Pros selected

The Seahawks have transitioned Pete Carroll from his position as Head Coach to the role of Vice President of Football Operations/Advisor during this off-season. Carroll served as the Seahawks’ Head Coach from 2010 to 2023.

Carroll holds the record for the most victories and highest win percentage, 137 and .606 respectively, in Seahawks franchise history.

In 11 out of Carroll’s 14 seasons as head coach, SEA had a winning record.

Over the last seven seasons, the Seattle Seahawks have a 1-4 win-loss record in the playoffs. This is a significant drop from their 9-5 win-loss record in the playoffs during Pete Carroll’s first seven seasons as head coach.

In January 2024, Schneider appointed former BAL DC Mike Macdonald as the new head coach of the Seahawks.

Under Macdonald’s direction as DC from 2022-23, BAL conceded just 17.5 PPG, ranking them 2nd in the NFL during that span.

Under the leadership of Carroll and DC Clint Hurt, the Seattle Seahawks permitted an average of 23.6 points per game from 2022-23, ranking 27th in the NFL.

In March 2022, Schneider traded franchise QB Russell Wilson to the Broncos.

SEA received: 2 top-10 first rd picks (CB Devon Witherspoon & T Charles Cross), 2 2nd-Rd picks (OLBs Boye Mafe & Derick Hall), 2022 5th-rd pick (#145 – traded), QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, DE Shelby Harris (Lock & Harris are no longer on team)

Russell Wilson was released by DEN after only two seasons with the team, following the 2023 season.

The Seahawks selected two players in the 1st round of the 2023 Draft. This was notable as from 2013 to 2022, SEA had only made five 1st-round selections, the lowest in the NFL.

CB Devon Witherspoon (#5 or) was selected for the Pro Bowl after his rookie season.

In 2023, WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (ranked #20 overall) recorded 63 receptions, 628 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns.

Each of the initial six players chosen by SEA in both the 2022 and 2023 Draft participated in over 14 games during their debut season. These twelve individuals make up a majority of the 19 total draft picks.

This includes six players who started in more than 10 games as rookies: Tackle Charles Cross, who started in 17 games in 2022; Running Back Ken Walker III, who started in 11 games in 2022; Tackle Abraham Lucas, who started in 16 games in 2022; Cornerback Tariq Woolen, who started in 17 games in 2022; Cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who started in 13 games in 2023; and Guard Anthony Bradford, who started in 10 games in 2023.

Woolen and Witherspoon were also chosen for the Pro Bowl in their rookie season.

Schneider has used a top-40 overall pick on every offensive and defensive position except for quarterback and tight end.
