Seahawks, safety Julian Love agree to terms on 3-year extension worth up to $36M

Having ascended to Pro Bowl status in Seattle, safety Julian Love has garnered a second contract with the club.

Love and the Seahawks have agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth up to $36 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday.

Following four seasons with the New York Giants, Love signed a two-year pact with the ‘Hawks ahead of the 2023 season. After posting impressive numbers — 123 tackles, 10 pass breakups, four interceptions — he is reupping with the Seahawks before getting back to free agency.

Love excelled in head coach Pete Carroll’s defensive scheme last year, and it’s apparent that new head coach Mike Macdonald views the defensive back as a crucial piece to his scheme, as well.

A fourth-round pick of the Giants in 2019, Love is still just 26 years old and could be rounding into one of the top safeties in the NFL. He’s clearly an important part of the plans ahead in the Pacific Northwest.
