NFL suspends Steelers CB Cameron Sutton eight games for violating personal conduct policy
Cameron Sutton‘s offseason transgressions have cost him half of a season of football.
The league announced on Monday that the Steelers cornerback has been suspended for eight games without pay by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy.
Sutton’s suspension comes after an arrest warrant was issued for him regarding an alleged domestic violence incident in March, for which Sutton eventually turned himself in and reportedly entered a pretrial diversion program on misdemeanor battery charges. The NFL investigated the March incident involving Sutton and determined he violated the personal conduct policy, leading to his suspension.
After one season spent in Detroit, Sutton was released by the Lions following the issuance of the warrant. He signed with the Steelers roughly two months later, returning to the team that selected him with the 94th pick in the 2017 draft.
Sutton will qualify for reinstatement after Pittsburgh’s Week 8 game against the New York Giants, which will be on Oct. 29.
