- DE Romeo Okwara announced Tuesday on Instagram that he is stepping away from the NFL. “My heart is forever with [the Lions organization] and the city of Detroit,” Okwara wrote, in part. The Notre Dame product played eight years and 92 games in the NFL, beginning with the Giants and then the last six with the Lions. He posted 10 sacks in 2020 for Detroit and tallied 25 for his career, along with 162 tackles, six forced fumbles and 58 QB hits. Last season, Okwara, 28, played in 16 games with nine tackles and two sacks.
