The Falcons hired Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their next head coach, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 25, per sources. Atlanta hired Rams quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Zac Robinson to be their offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 27. The team announced Rams assistant head coach Jimmy Lake as the new defensive coordinator on Jan. 29. On Feb. 22, the Falcons announced they have hired Jacquies Smith to be their linebackers coach, including six other assistants to the staff.

The Ravens promoted Zach Orr to the role of defensive coordinator on Feb. 1. Orr replaces Mike Macdonald after the Seahawks hired Macdonald to be their next head coach. Orr previously spent the past six seasons on Baltimore’s defensive staff following the conclusion of his playing career.

The Panthers hired Dave Canales as their new head coach, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 25. The Panthers hired Dan Morgan on Jan. 22 as their new general manager/president of football operations. Carolina hired Buccaneers assistant head coach and run game coordinator Harold Goodwin as its new assistant HC and run game coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Rapoport reported on Jan. 30. The Panthers announced on Jan. 31 the hiring of Brandt Tilis as the new executive vice president of football operations. Brad Idzik and Tracy Smith were hired on Feb. 8 as offensive coordinator and special teams coordinator, respectively.

The Bears are hired former Seahawks OC Shane Waldron as their new offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 22. Chicago hired former Buffalo Bills assistant head coach and defensive line coach Eric Washington as its new defensive coordinator on Jan. 27. The Bears are hiring former Panthers OC Thomas Brown to be their new passing game coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 30. Chicago announced Kerry Joseph as the new quarterback coach on Jan. 31.

The Bengals promoted quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher to offensive coordinator on Jan. 25.

The Browns hired former Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey as their new offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 28. The team has since announced Dorsey’s hiring. Cleveland hired Jacques Cesaire as their next defensive line coach, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 27.

The Cowboys are expected to hire former Vikings HC Mike Zimmer to be their next defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Feb. 8.

The Packers hired Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley as their new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 31.

- Linebackers coach Matt House
The Jaguars hired Nielsen, who spent the 2023 season as the Falcons defensive coordinator, on Jan. 22. Jaguars fired Mike Caldwell on Jan. 8 after two years as the team’s DC. The Jaguars are hiring Matt House as their linebackers coach, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 24.

The Raiders hired Antonio Pierce as their new head coach on Jan. 19. Pierce, who led Las Vegas to a 5-4 finish to the 2023 season as the interim head coach, becomes just the third interim HC to become that team’s full-time coach the following year. The Raiders hired Telesco as their new GM, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 23. Telesco previously spent 11 seasons as Chargers GM, for whom he went 84-92 with three playoff appearances. Las Vegas is expected to hire Luke Getsy to be its next offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Feb.4.

The Chargers hired Jim Harbaugh to become their next head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Jan. 24. Harbaugh led the University of Michigan to a national championship in January and received an offer from Michigan that would have made him the highest-paid coach in college football, but chose to helm the Chargers. The Chargers are hired Joe Hortiz as their new general manager, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 29. Hortiz had previously been the Ravens’ director of player personnel since 2019. Los Angeles hired former Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman as its new OC, Rapoport reported, and hired Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as the team’s next DC, per Rapoport and Pelissero. The team later announced Roman and Minter’s hiring.

The Rams promoted pass rush coordinator and linebackers coach Chris Shula to be the next defensive coordinator.

The Dolphins hired Ravens assistant head coach/defensive line coach Anthony Weaver as their next defensive coordinator, the team announced of Feb. 3. Miami is hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry to be their linebackers coach/run game coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Feb. 6.

The Patriots hired Jerod Mayo to succeed Bill Belichick as their new head coach on Jan. 12. Mayo, who had served as a linebackers coach the past five seasons on Belichick’s staff, had been strongly considered as the heir apparent. The 37-year-old becomes the first Black head coach in franchise history and is now the youngest HC in the NFL. The Patriots hired defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington as the team’s next defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 27. The Patriots hired former Browns OC Alex Van Pelt as their offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Feb. 1.

The Saints are expected to finalize a deal to hire 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak as their next offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Feb. 11.

The Giants hired Shane Bowen as their new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Feb. 5. New York hired Michael Ghobrial as its special teams coordinator on Jan. 25. Ghobrial previously was the assistant special teams coach for the Jets. The Giants are hiring former Titans offensive coordinator Tim Kelly as tight ends coach, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported on Feb. 6.

- Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore
The Eagles are set to hire Fangio as their new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 25. Fangio and the Miami Dolphins parted ways on Jan. 24 after just one season. The team announced Fangio’s hiring on Jan. 27. Philadelphia hired Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for its OC position, Pelissero and NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 27. The Eagles announced Moore’s hiring on Feb. 5.

The Steelers hired Arthur Smith on Jan. 30. Smith previously spent the past three seasons as head coach of the Falcons, for whom he compiled a 21-30 record.

The Seahawks hired Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their new head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 31. Seattle his also hiring former Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde as its defensive coordinator, Pelissero reported Feb. 9. Later on Feb. 9, Rapoport reported the Seahawks are expected to hire Alabama offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Grubb as their next OC. On Feb. 22, the Seahawks announced they hired Charles London to be their quarterbacks coach, including 14 assistants to the coaching staff.

The Buccaneers are hired Liam Coen as their new offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Feb. 2, per a source. The team announced that they had agreed to terms on Feb. 3.

The Titans hired Brian Callahan to succeed Mike Vrabel, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero on Jan. 24. Callahan will take on his first head coaching job after previously serving as the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator. Tennessee hired Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson as its defensive coordinator, Pelissero reported on Jan. 31, per sources. The Titans hired Jaguars pass-game coordinator Nick Holz as their new offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Feb. 2, per a source.

The Commanders hired Quinn as their new head coach, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Feb. 1. Washington hired former 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters as its new GM on Jan. 15. The Commanders also agreed to terms with former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury to be their next offensive coordinator, NFL Network’s Peter Schrager reported on Feb. 4, per a source. On the same day as Kingsbury, Washington was reported to be hiring Cowboys secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr. as its defensive coordinator, per NFL Network’s Steve Wyche. The Commanders have since announced the hiring of Kingsbury and Whitt. Washington officially announced Izzo as ST coordinator on Feb. 15.
FIRINGS
- Head coach Arthur Smith
The Falcons fired Smith on Jan. 7 after Atlanta’s season ended in a blowout loss to the rival Saints. Smith finished his three-year tenure with a 21-30 record. The Falcons finished under .500 in each campaign, going 7-10 each year.
- Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsesy
The Bills fired Dorsey on Nov. 14, a day after Buffalo’s loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Dorsey was elevated from his role as Bills passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2022 when Brian Daboll left to take the New York Giants head coaching job.

The Panthers fired Reich on Nov. 27 just 11 games into his first season in Carolina. Reich, who was hired in the offseason after more than four seasons as the head coach for the Colts, went 1-10 with the Panthers before his ouster. The Panthers fired Fitterer on Jan. 8, following the conclusion of a 2-15 season.

The Bears fired Getsy and four other assistant coaches on Jan. 10 after two seasons. Getsy joined Chicago’s staff when Matt Eberflus was hired as head coach during the 2022 offseason.
- Running backs coach Stump Mitchell
The Browns fired Mitchell on Jan. 17, while tight ends coach TC McCartney will not be retained.
- Defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell
- Running backs coach Bernie Parmalee
The Jaguars fired Caldwell and several members of his staff on Jan. 8. Caldwell served as the team’s defensive coordinator for two seasons.
- Head coach Josh McDaniels
- General manager Dave Ziegler
- Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy
The Raiders fired McDaniels and Ziegler on Halloween night after a 3-5 start to the season. Las Vegas hired McDaniels and Ziegler away from New England ahead of the 2022 season, but neither was able to complete his second season in the desert. The two oversaw a franchise that produced a 9-16 record through 25 games.

The Chargers fired Staley and Telesco on Dec. 15, following a 63-21 loss to the Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Staley finished his tenure in L.A. with a 24-24 record, two winning seasons and one playoff berth, which ended in a historic loss to the Jaguars. Telesco was hired in 2013.

- Senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell
- Wide receivers coach Kodi Burns
The Saints fired Carmichael on Jan. 16 after 15 seasons as offensive coordinator. Carmichael joined New Orleans as quarterbacks coach when Sean Payton was first hired and then became OC in 2009.
- Special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey
- Offensive line coach Bobby Johnson
The Giants fired McGaughey and Johnson on Jan. 8.
- Defensive coordinator Sean Desai
The Eagles fired Desai on Jan. 21, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Desai saw his role on the Eagles diminished in December when assistant coach Matt Patricia took over defensive play calling duties.
- Offensive coordinator Matt Canada
The Steelers fired Canada on Nov. 21 after just over two and a half seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator. Canada joined the Steelers as quarterbacks coach in 2020 and was elevated to OC in 2021, replacing Randy Fichtner.
- Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks
The 49ers fired Wilks on Feb. 14 just two days after San Francisco lost 25-22 in overtime in Super Bowl LVIII.
- Head coach Mike Vrabel
The Titans fired Vrabel on Jan. 9 after six seasons. Vrabel went 54-45 in Tennessee with three trips to the playoffs and one AFC Championship Game appearance.
- Head coach Ron Rivera
- Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio
- Defensive backs coach Brent Vieselmeyer
The Commanders fired Rivera on Jan. 8 after four seasons with the team. Rivera won one NFC East title (albeit with a 7-9 record) during his tenure. The Commanders fired Del Rio and Vieselmeyer on Nov. 24 following Washington’s blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Del Rio joined Washington’s staff with Rivera in 2020.

RESIGNED
- Defensive coordinator Alan Williams
Williams resigned on Sept. 20, citing a need to take a “step back to take care of my health and my family.” Williams joined the Bears as DC in 2022 and has coached in the NFL since the 2001 season and previously was the Indianapolis Colts defensive backs coach from 2018-2021 before joining the Bears.

PARTING WAYS
- Passing game coordinator Parks Frazier
The Panthers announced it has informed Frazier that he will not continue with the team.
- Defensive coordinator Joe Barry
Barry will not return as the Packers’ defensive coordinator following three seasons in the role, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 24, per sources. The team announced the decision shortly after.
- Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio
- Offensive assistant coach Ricardo Allen
- Offensive assistant coach Mike Judge
- Assistant special teams coach Brendan Farrell
The Dolphins announced on Jan. 24 that they had parted ways with Fangio after one season. Miami has parted ways with offensive assistants Ricardo Allen and Mike Judge, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported on Jan. 25. Assistant special teams coach Brendan Farrell won’t return for the 2024 season, per Wolfe.
- Head coach Bill Belichick
The Patriots and Belichick mutually agreed to part ways on Jan. 11, per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Belichick was the head coach in New England for 24 seasons where he won six Super Bowl championships and appeared in three others.
- Defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale
The Giants announced on Jan. 10 that they had officially parted ways with Martindale. The announcement came two days following reports that Martindale had resigned from the position as Giants defensive coordinator after two seasons.
- Offensive coordinator Brian Johnson
Johnson will not be returning to the Eagles in 2024 after one year as the team’s offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Jan. 23, per a source. Johnson served as Philadelphia’s quarterbacks coach from 2021-2022 before being promoted to OC in 2023.
- Head coach Pete Carroll
The Seahawks announced on Jan. 10 that Carroll will no longer be the franchise’s head coach after 14 seasons. Per a statement from Seahawks chair Jody Allen, the team amicably agreed with Carroll “that his role will evolve from Head Coach to remain with the organization as an advisor.”
