Cowboys QB Dak Prescott dealing with minor foot sprain, not expected to affect preparation for 2024 season

In June, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy praised quarterback Dak Prescott for having his “best offseason program.”

During the first week of July, Prescott was seen wearing a protective walking boot while on vacation.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday that Prescott has been managing a minor foot sprain for the past few days. However, it’s not deemed severe enough to hinder his preparations for the 2024 season.

Training camp practice in Oxnard, California will commence on July 25 for Dallas.

Prescott, who was unable to play in five games in 2022 due to a thumb injury, participated in the entire 17 games of the last season. However, he is notably known for missing the last 12 games of the 2020 season following a horrific ankle break.

The quarterback for the Cowboys is going into the last year of his contract.

Prescott topped the league in 2023 with 410 completions and 36 touchdown passes. He achieved his best performance since 2019 by throwing for 4,516 yards.
