Chiefs, Hallmark team up to produce Christmas movie, 'Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story'
The Chiefs are making a movie in 2024, and Patrick Mahomes is not the headliner.
Kansas City and Hallmark are collaborating with the NFL and Skydance Sports to make a holiday movie. Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr. will star in the Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The film is set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel this winter during the 15th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event.
“Partnering with Hallmark on such a unique project is an honor,” said Mark Donovan, Chiefs President. “As a club, we’re always striving to expand our brand and engage with new audiences. This partnership brings together two fervent fan bases and provides us with the chance to showcase the energy and tradition of Chiefs Kingdom on a widely-viewed channel during the holiday season.”
The movie is scheduled to start production in July and will be filmed in various locations in Kansas City, Missouri, including GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, which is the home stadium of the Chiefs.
“Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs, both originating from the same roots of values, tradition, and community, share a unique synergy,” stated Hallmark’s chief brand officer, Darren Abbott. “We’re excited to mix the heartwarming narratives of Hallmark with the exhilarating world of professional football. This partnership offers audiences an intimate look at the spirited community, rich traditions, and fervent fans that embody Kansas City, all delivered in the heartening and inspiring style of Hallmark.”
As the Chiefs strive for their third consecutive win, Kansas City fans might witness the arrival of one or possibly two Lombardi Trophies later this winter.
