– CAR Assistant GM from 2021-2023
Director of Player Personnel for BUF from 2018-2020
From 2015-17, he held the position of SEA Director of Pro Personnel, after serving as the assistant director from 2011-2014.
The former Pro Bowl linebacker for CAR, who was drafted 11th overall in the 2001 Draft, played seven seasons with CAR from 2001 to 2007.
Scott Fitterer served as the General Manager of CAR from 2021 to 2023, before being terminated in January 2024.
Under Fitterer’s management, the CAR had a 14-37 W-L record, making it the worst record in the NFL from 2021-2023.
The CAR let go of a head coach under Fitterer in each of the last two seasons, with Matt Rhule in 2022 and Frank Reich in 2023.
With Fitterer as GM, CAR secured a top-10 pick in each of the last three drafts.
Out of 22 draft picks made by Fitterer since 2021, only 12 are currently on the Panthers’ roster.
– 5 of those 12 players were selected in 2023
Fitterer swapped for quarterbacks Sam Darnold in April 2021 and Baker Mayfield in July 2022 and traded out All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey in the middle of the 2022 season.

CLE trades a 2024 5th-round pick for Mayfield, who has had the league’s lowest passer rating of 73.6 with CAR since 2021.
Received 2nd-round, 3rd-round, and 4th-round picks for 2023, and a 5th-round pick for 2024 from San Francisco for McCaffrey.
All three first-round picks for CAR drafted by Fitterer had a difficult time in 2023.
Bryce Young has statistics of 179.8 passing yards per game (ranked 31st), a touchdown to interception ratio of 11-10 (ranked 29th), and a passer rating of 73.7 (ranked last).
Ikem Ekwonu has allowed 10 sacks, which is the third highest, and has 1,096 pass block snaps, tied for the eighth highest.
Jaycee Horn was absent during Weeks 2-12 and 17 but has managed to participate in 22 games since 2021.
In the 2023 NFL Draft, Fitterer moved up from #9 to #1 to pick QB Bryce Young.
The Carolina Panthers (CAR) traded wide receiver DJ Moore, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2023 second-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick to the Chicago Bears (CHI).
The Panthers’ 1st pick in the 2024 draft is the #1 overall pick.
