Cardinals Decision Makers

Chairman and President: Michael J. Bidwill

General Manager: Monti Ossenfort

Head Coach: Jonathan Gannon

Monti Ossenfort

Ossenfort is starting his second season as the GM of the Cardinals.

– 2020-22: TEN Director of Player Personnel

– 2014-19: NE Director of College Scouting

2011-13: Associate Director of College Scouting, NE

2004-2010: Held various scouting roles with New England and Houston.

In Ossenfort’s first season as GM in 2023, the Cardinals had a record of 4-13.

Kyler Murray was absent for the first 9 games of the 2023 season due to a recovery period following an ACL tear in 2022.

ARI had a 1-8 record without Murray and a 3-5 record with Murray.

From 2013 to 2022, Steve Keim’s tenure as GM for ARI resulted in a record of 80-80-2.

Resigned as General Manager after the 2022 season to concentrate on health.

In July 2022, Keim and the Cardinals extended QB Kyler Murray’s contract for 5 years, worth $230.5 million, which is equivalent to $46.1M annually.

Under Steve Keim’s leadership, ARI drafted five Pro Bowlers and three All-Pros.

– Pro Bowl: QB Kyler Murray, T D.J. Humphries,
RB David Johnson, S Budda Baker, S Tyrann Mathieu

All-Pros include Running Back David Johnson, and safeties Budda Baker and Tyrann Mathieu.

The Cardinals have engaged in a trade involving their 1st-round pick in both the 2022 and 2023 NFL Drafts.

In 2023, they traded down from the #3 to the #12 overall pick with HOU, then traded up from #12 to #6 overall with DET and selected T Paris Johnson Jr.

Traded the 23rd overall pick to Baltimore in exchange for Wide Receiver Marquise Brown and a 3rd round pick in 2022.

Only one of ARI’s first-round picks before 2021, Kyler Murray, is still with the team.

Safety Budda Baker is the only player chosen by ARI in the 2nd round, prior to 2021, who is still on the team.

Over the last five drafts, the Cardinals have not utilized a top-100 draft pick for a running back, interior offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman, or safety.
