Sophie Alisch becomes first female boxing signing at Summit Sports

UNBEATEN German featherweight contender Sophie Alisch has joined the boxing roster at Summit Sports.

Last month the multi-sport and gaming management agency recruited Sky Sports’ former head of boxing Adam Smith as their Director of Boxing Talent. The former commentator will now be mentoring Alisch which she described as “the cherry on top” of today’s announcement.

The 2020 Olympian made her professional debut in February 2016 and has racked up a total of nine wins, without defeat, so far in her career. Promoted by Wasserman Boxing the 22-year-old said she is thrilled to be working with Summit Sports.

“It’s a major career milestone, and I’m incredibly excited for the opportunities ahead. Joining Summit Sports means being guided by top-notch professionals in a dynamic environment.

“I am extremely excited and grateful for this journey alongside such talented individuals to help take me to the top of my career. Thank you to all who’ve supported. Here’s to the exciting journey ahead to reach the peak with Summit Sports.”

In the current world rankings Alisch sits eighth with the WBO, tenth with the WBC and fifth with the EBU. This Saturday night (April 6) in Las Vegas the vacant WBC Female featherweight title will be contested between British-based Australian Skye Nicolson and Denmark’s Sarah Mahfoud.

“We at Summit Sports are really excited to be working with one of the finest young, up and coming fighters in the world,” Adam Smith said.

“Sophie is not only our first female boxing signing which is special enough, but she is bright, dedicated, well-rounded and a real family person which fills me with huge confidence that we can make a genuine impact on her sporting career and life.
