Chantelle Cameron and Matchroom Boxing part ways
FORMER undisputed female super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron is now without a promoter.
The 32-year-old’s time working with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing came to an official end yesterday (May 1) when the promotional outfit released a statement on Twitter/X.
Matchroom Boxing can today confirm that we reached an agreement last month to release Chantelle Cameron from her promotional deal.
We would like to wish Chantelle all the best in her future endeavours.

Their mutual parting of ways brings a second change to Cameron’s career after she announced in February that she would no longer be trained by Jamie Moore and had moved to Grant Smith’s gym in Sheffield. Moore and co-trainer Nigel Travis worked together to help take Cameron to undisputed glory in November 2022 when the Northampton fighter beat Jessica McCaskill
A new chapter with Grant Smith. I want to express my gratitude to Jamie and Nigel for the brilliant run we have together. I love them both to pieces and will always be grateful for everything they have done for me. pic.twitter.com/rncBPmBYFd

Six months later “Il Capo” would top that by beating Katie Taylor on her own turf at the 3Arena in Dublin. The career-best performance saw Cameron retain her four titles but in November last year, at the same venue, Taylor got her revenge levelling their rivalry at 1-1.
A trilogy bout looked a strong possibility but instead Taylor, 37, decided to face another former adversary – Amanda Serrano – in a rematch of their April 2022 thriller at Madison Square Garden in New York. Their fight will see Taylor defend her super-lightweight belts at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Taylor’s decision has left Cameron needing to look elsewhere for an opponent but first she needs a new promoter. Boxing News understands a decision on her future will be announced soon.
