The Ultimate Fighting Championship is back in Sin City this weekend for UFC Vegas 93 (UFC on ESPN 58). Saturday’s event is shaping up to be an exciting night that’ll be headlined by a flyweight bout between former title challenger Alex Perez and the undefeated Tatsuro Taira.

By now, you know that Betting News is the place to go for all of your MMA needs and this week isn’t any different.

Strap in as we get into everything you need to know about UFC Vegas 93: Perez vs. Taira, ranging from the full card odds to my main event and prelim predictions.

UFC Vegas 93 Main Card Fights & Odds

All UFC Vegas 93: Perez vs. Taita odds are courtesy of BetOnline as of Friday, June 14 at 11:48 a.m.

UFC on ESPN 58 Main Event Pick: Alex Perez vs Tatsuro Taira — Flyweight

  • Record: Alex Perez (25-8) vs. Tatsuro Taira (15-0)
  • Moneyline: Alex Perez (+175) | Tatsuro Taira (-205)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-145) | Under (+115)
  • Most likely method of victory: Taira via submission (+120)

It’s hard to doubt Tatsuro Taira in Saturday’s main event after the run he’s been on. The Japanese talent is a perfect 15-0 to begin his MMA career and even began his UFC stint with five consecutive victories — including three finishes. Alex Perez is a tough customer, but he’s won just one of his last four outings and was submitted twice during that stretch.

Perez is a solid grappler, too, but Taira’s five-inch reach advantage gives the latter a distinct edge. Considering how the underdog has now been submitted five times in his career, I’m taking Taira to win via submission to keep his undefeated record intact.

Cannonier vs. Imavov Fight Prediction: Jared Cannonier

Cannonier vs. Imavov Best Bet: Cannonier via Points (+235)

UFC on ESPN 58 Co-Main Event: Douglas Silva de Andrade vs Miles Johns — Bantamweight

  • Moneyline: Douglas Silva de Andrade (+122) | Miles Johns (-142)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-205) | Under (+165)
  • Most likely method of victory: Johns via points (+150)

  • Most likely method of victory: Cuamba via points (+230)

Brady Hiestand vs. Garrett Armfield — Bantamweight

  • Record: Brady Hiestand (7-2) vs. Garrett Armfield (10-3)
  • Moneyline: Brady Hiestand (+165) | Garrett Armfield (-190)

UFC Vegas 93 Preliminary Card Odds & Picks

UFC Louisville Prelim Fight Record: 4-4

UFC Louisville Prelim Best Bet Record: 4-4

Tagir Ulanbekov vs. Joshua Van — Flyweight

  • Record: Tagir Ulanbekov (15-2) vs. Joshua Van (10-1)
  • Moneyline: Tagir Ulanbekov (-203) | Joshua Van (+173)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-120) | Under (-110)

Joshua Van has won three straight fights since making his UFC debut and now must face his toughest test this weekend. Tagir Ulanbekov is no slouch, having only lost twice in his MMA career while boasting a 4-1 UFC record. He’s also bigger and more experienced than Van while also being the superior grappler of the two.

I don’t think that Van has the grappling skills to survive this fight, which is why I’m taking Ulanbekov to win via submission.

Ulanbekov vs. Van Prediction: Tagir Ulanbekov

Ulanbekov vs. Van Best Bet: Ulanbekov via submission (+150)

Jimmy Flick vs. Nate Maness — Flyweight

  • Record: Jimmy Flick (17-7) vs. Nate Maness (15-3)
  • Moneyline: Jimmy Flick (+425) | Nate Maness (-600)
  • Round total: 1.5 — Over (+165) | Under (-205)

Jimmy Flick’s UFC run hasn’t gone as planned. He’s been knocked out in two of his last three fights with his only victory coming against Malcolm Gordon, which isn’t that impressive. Now he’s going one-on-one with the always-tough Nate Maness, who’s coming off a first-round TKO win over Mateus Mendonca and is hungry for more success.

Don’t overthink things. Flick is struggling to finish fights, so look for Maness to win via KO/TKO this weekend — something he’s done in three of his last seven fights.

Flick vs. Maness Prediction: Nate Maness

Flick vs. Maness Best Bet: Maness via KO/TKO (-235)

Carli Judice vs. Gabriella Fernandes — Women’s Flyweight

  • Record: Carli Judice (3-1) vs. Gabriella Fernandes (8-3)
  • Moneyline: Carli Judice (+141) | Gabriella Fernandes (-161)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-215) | Under (+175)

Truthfully, I’m not a huge fan of betting on this fight. Carli Judice only has four pro outings under her belt and just lost on Dana White’s Contender Series 2023 while Gabriella Fernandes is 0-2 with back-to-back unanimous decision losses since making her UFC debut.

With both women having much to prove, let’s take a neutral approach by backing the fight to go the distance.

Flick vs. Maness Prediction: Nate Maness

Flick vs. Maness Best Bet: Maness via KO/TKO (-235)

Jeka Saragih vs. Westin Wilson — Featherweight

  • Record: Jeka Saragih (14-3) vs. Westin Wilson (16-9)
  • Moneyline: Jeka Saragih (-350) | Westin Wilson (+280)
  • Round total: 1.5 — Over (+225) | Under (-285)

I don’t see Westin Wilson finding much success at UFC Vegas 93. The Orem, UT native is coming back back-to-back first-round knockout losses and now must take on Jeka Saragih, who’s now KO/TKO’d five of his last seven opponents with two of those victories coming in Round 1.

With that in mind, I predict that Saragih will end this fight early with a knockout in Round 1 — something he’s done five times in his career.

Saragih vs. Wilson Prediction: Jeka Saragih

Saragih vs. Wilson Best Bet: Saragih via KO/TKO in Round 1 (-125)

Melquizael Costa vs. Shayilan Nuerdanbieke — Featherweight

  • Record: Melquizael Costa (20-7) vs. Shayilan Nuerdanbieke (39-11)
  • Moneyline: Melquizael Costa (-190) | Shayilan Nuerdanbieke (+165)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-135) | Under (+105)

Both of these featherweights could use a win this weekend. Melquizael Costa is 1-2 since debuting and just lost to Steve Garcia via KO in December. Meanwhile, Shayilan Nuerdanbieke saw his three-fight winning streak end with a TKO loss to Garcia last April.

Even though he’s the underdog, I’m backing Nuerdanbieke. He’s 2-1 in the UFC when the odds aren’t in his favor and has won three consecutive outings in Las Vegas. At the same time, I recommend backing that the fight won’t go the distance. Both of Nuerdanbieke’s last two fights ended via KO/TKO while four of Costa’s last five outings featured a finish.

Costa vs. Nuerdanbieke Prediction: Shayilan Nuerdanbieke

Costa vs. Nuerdanbieke Best Bet: Fight to go the Distance — No (-115)

Josefine Knutsson vs. Julia Polastri — Women’s Strawweight

  • Record: Josefine Knutsson (7-0) vs. Julia Polastri (12-3)
  • Moneyline: Josefine Knutsson (-170) | Julia Polastri (+145)
  • Round total: 2.5 — Over (-400) | Under (+300)

I expect a fairly competitive bout between these women at UFC Vegas 93. Josefine Knutsson is a former Muay Thai world champion who’s undefeated due to her dominant grappling style. While Julia Polastri has tasted defeat before, she’s still 10-1 in her last 11 fights and will do what she can to find success in her debut.

Nevertheless, I can’t doubt a world-class grappler like Knutsson. She’s going to wear Polastri down throughout all three rounds, shutting her down just like she did Marnic Mann in September. Knutsson isn’t one for finishes, though, so expect her to win via points.

Knutsson vs. Polastri Prediction: Josefine Knutsson

Knutsson vs. Polastri Best Bet: Knutsson via Points (-135)
