Aces vs Sky Prediction & Picks (6/27): Can Chicago Challenge the Champs?
It hasn’t been an ideal start for the Las Vegas Aces, but the two-time defending WNBA champions appear to be healthy and heating up. Tonight, they will seek their third straight win as they visit Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky (7:00 pm ET, Amazon Prime Video).
The Aces (8-6) are coming off back-to-back 11-point wins over the Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun. In the former victory, Chelsea Gray made her season debut after missing the first 12 games.
The Aces currently sit only fifth in the WNBA standings, five games behind the New York Liberty (15-3). But with Gray back, two impressive wins under their belts, and a very favorable run of games ahead, the champs have a chance to make a move up the standings before the WNBA takes a break for the Olympics next month.
Like the Aces, the Sky (6-9) have won consecutive games. After ending a four-game losing skid with a victory over the woeful Dallas Wings last Thursday, Chicago rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit to edge Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever 88-87 on Sunday. Reese led the way with 25 points, a career high, and 16 rebounds.
The Sky have put in some competitive efforts against the best teams in the league thus far this season. Will there be another one tonight? Or will the Aces stay hot in the second of five straight games against the Eastern Conference?

Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky Betting Analysis
In addition to a stunning road win against the New York Liberty on May 23, the Sky led the Liberty by one entering the fourth quarter in the rematch at Wintrust Arena on June 4. They have also kept it within single digits against the Connecticut Sun twice at home, losing 86-82 on May 25 and 83-75 on June 12.
So, don’t write off their chances to compete with the Aces, especially when they are on their best stretch of the season offensively. Chicago has scored 80+ points in four consecutive games, which didn’t happen at any point last season.
Reese, who has had eight straight double-doubles, has contributed to that offensive uptick. So has Chennedy Carter, who has averaged 19.0 PPG and shot 66.7% from the field in this four-game stretch.
Seven of Chicago’s nine games before the Olympic break are against the Aces (twice), Storm (twice), Liberty (twice), and Lynx, but with Reese and Carter playing well, Kamilla Cardoso—who had a career-high 16 points along with 10 rebounds in Sunday’s win over the Fever—finding her groove, and Marina Mabrey frequently making key contributions, they enter this stretch on the right foot.
That said, I do think the champs will be a bit much for them tonight. The Aces have come out strong in their last two games, and if they do so again tonight, they should win comfortably. The Sky may have been able to overcome a 15-point deficit against the Fever, but the Aces are a completely different animal.
Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky Prediction & Picks
Prediction for Aces vs Sky: Aces to win
Picks: for Aces vs Sky: 1) Aces -10.5, 2) Kelsey Plum over 2.5 made threes (-125 at Bovada), 3) Chennedy Carter over 15.5 points (-145 at Bovada)
Do you think that the Aces will win, Plum will hit three or more triples, and A’ja Wilson will put up 40+ combined points, rebounds, and assists? At BetOnline, you can grab that same-game parlay for +425 odds. Is it a move worth making?
Wilson, the WNBA MVP favorite, is averaging 27.8 PPG, 11.6 RPG, and 2.5 APG this season. Those numbers are even better on the road, where she is averaging 31.2 PPG, 11.8 RPG, and 3.0 APG.
Plum, meanwhile, has hit three or more three-pointers nine times this season, including three times in four games against the Eastern Conference.
So, it is absolutely worth your while to add that SGP to tonight’s WNBA bets.
