Texas A&M vs Tennessee CWS Finals Game 3 Prediction & Picks: Who Will Make History in Omaha?
Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers isn’t the only championship decider that will take place tonight. In Omaha, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Tennessee will face off in Game 3 of the College World Series championship series (7:00 pm ET, ESPN).
The winner of tonight’s all-SEC showdown at Charles Schwab Field will be crowned national champion for the first time in program history.
In Game 1 on Saturday, #3 Texas A&M (53-14 jumped out on top early and went on to win 9-5. In Game 2 yesterday, the Aggies were up 1-0 and seven outs away from the title, but two late home runs by Dylan Dreiling and Cal Stark propelled #1 Tennessee (59-13) to a season-saving 4-1 win.
With two SEC teams in the finals, the conference is guaranteed a fifth consecutive national title in college baseball.
But which program will get to dogpile tonight? The #1 Vols are once again heavily favored and looking to become the first top seed to take home the title since the Miami Hurricanes in 1999.

Texas A&M vs Tennessee Betting Analysis
Tonight’s matchup between the Aggies and Vols will be the 12th winner-take-all decider since the best-of-three championship series returned in 2003.
In eight of the previous 11 instances, ten or fewer runs were scored. Last year was not in that bunch, as LSU throttled Florida 18-4 in another SEC West vs SEC East showdown.
This is the third such matchup in the last four editions of the College World Series. The first two went the way of the West, with Mississippi State (another first-time champion) overcoming a Game 1 loss to see off Vanderbilt in 2021.
Even though Tennessee is favored to finish off a stellar season with a 60th win and a championship breakthrough, this is no time to doubt Texas A&M. They may be a heavy underdog, but they are here for a reason, even after losing star slugger Braden Montgomery in the supers.
The Aggies still have strong pitching depth despite using five total pitchers in yesterday’s loss. And tonight’s starting pitcher, Justin Lamkin, has been outstanding in the College World Series. In two outings, both against Florida, he has allowed just four hits and one walk and struck out 15 in eight innings of work.
Tennessee will counter with Zander Sechrist, who pitched very well in a victory over Florida State in the semifinals. He might do so again tonight, but if A&M has a late lead for a third straight game, I like their chances to shut it down and seal the title with Evan Aschenbeck closing it out.
