Longtime Colts TE Dallas Clark to be inducted into Indianapolis Ring of Honor
One of Peyton Manning’s favorite targets is joining the quarterback in the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.
Jim Irsay, team owner and CEO of the Colts, announced on Monday that former tight end Dallas Clark will be inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor in the 2024 season. Clark, who was a significant part of Indy’s offense for nine seasons, will have his induction ceremony on Oct. 20, during the game against the Miami Dolphins.
Irsay stated, “The Colts have a rich history of record-setting tight ends and receivers, and Dallas Clark is certainly one of them. Tight ends have evolved to become crucial elements of the offense in contemporary football, and Dallas was at the forefront with his unique playing style. He was not only electrifying and reliable on the field but also a great teammate and individual off the field. He played a pivotal role in securing Indianapolis its first world championship. It’s with immense pleasure that I welcome Dallas Clark into our Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.”
Clark holds the record for the highest number of receptions (427) and receiving touchdowns (46) among all tight ends in Colts’ history. His record of 4,887 yards is only second to John Mackey’s 5,126 yards, making it the second-highest for a tight end in the franchise’s history.
The 2003 first-round pick paired with wide receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne to form a dynamic trio for Manning. Clark helped spearhead the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI run, recording two 100-yard games in the 2006 playoffs, including a six-catch, 137-yard outing in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.
Clark earned first-team All-Pro honors and made his only career Pro Bowl in 2009, setting career highs with 100 catches for 1,106 yards and adding 10 touchdowns.
