“The design of this uniform pays tribute to both Minnesota and the Nordic Vikings,” stated Jackie Ramacher, the art manager for the Vikings. “As Minnesotans, we’ve proven our resilience and toughness time and again. Our unity is not just forged by the severe cold winters we endure, but also by our embracement of them. Hence, it’s only appropriate that our Vikings sport the coldest uniforms in the NFL.”
The helmet, entirely in white, features a metallic gray stripe, mirroring the design of early Viking battle helmets. Employing white, purple, and metallic gray as the main colors is a unique move for the Vikings’ uniforms as they traditionally incorporate gold. The uniform also includes “icicle drip” numbers and a Nordic Knots pattern adorning the back neckline.
The Vikings plan to wear the “Winter Warrior” uniforms for their Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears on Monday, Dec. 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Each team is permitted a maximum of two alternate uniforms, and the club has the option to wear these substitutes twice each season.
