Texans become first team to fully report for training camp ahead of 2024 NFL season
The Houston Texans are prepared to dive into the 2024 season.
The reigning AFC South champions, comprising of both veterans and rookies, are scheduled to report for training camp on Wednesday. This makes them the first team to fully assemble for work.
The Texans get to work early due to their Pro Football Hall of Fame Game date with the Chicago Bears on Aug. 1.
Entering DeMeco Ryans’ second season as head coach, Houston has high hopes following a formidable 2023 campaign. The young Texans team seized the division title and secured a decisive postseason victory over the Cleveland Browns, raising expectations for the forthcoming season.
With stud C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and newcomers Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon, Houston’s offense could be one of the most exciting in 2024. The Texans also revamped the defense, adding the likes of pass rusher Danielle Hunter and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
The Texans should have one of the more intriguing training camp battles this offseason to see who will grab the CB2 gig opposite Derek Stingley Jr. Imports Jeff Okudah, C.J. Henderson and second-round rookie Kamari Lassiter each have a shot to snag the gig with a good camp.
