Big punching Martin Bakole eager to take on ‘Big Bang’ Zhilei Zhang in China

If Turki Alalshikh has his way, ZHILEI ZHANG and Martin Bakole could be facing each other in their next fight.

According to ESPN, Alalshikh’s future plans include a matchup between the two heavyweight behemoths.

Zhang’s momentum, gained from his two victories against Joe Joyce, was disrupted when he lost to Joseph Parker in March. Nonetheless, ‘Big Bang’ made a strong comeback by defeating former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, a formidable opponent.

Until recently, Martin Bakole was merely observing the heavyweight boxing scene from a distance. However, his situation changed dramatically earlier this month when he defeated Jared Anderson in Los Angeles. Although the American boxer put up a strong fight, Bakole’s power was overwhelming. The Congolese boxer, who is based in Scotland, was too much for Anderson to handle. Alalshikh, who organized the inaugural Riyadh Season in America along with Matchroom and Queensberry, was a witness to Bakole’s impressive performance.

Champions Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are booked with fight dates in September and December, hence, contenders such as Zhang and Bakole need to keep active. If the fight proceeds, Alalshikh is considering Africa or China as potential locations for the contest.

“Bakole told Sky Sports that he would love to fight big Zhang in China this December.”
