As part of NHL.com’s 32 in 32 series, the fantasy hockey staff has ranked the top five players on the Philadelphia Flyers and identified other preseason draft targets with point and win projections for the 2024-25 season.
1. Travis Konecny, F
NHL.com point projection: 75
Last season, Konecny was the leading scorer for the Flyers, amassing 68 points in 76 games. His 33 goals put him at a tie for the 27th place in the League. Despite not playing more than 76 games in either of the last two seasons, Konecny has managed to consistently deliver 60-point seasons. His steady performance makes him a top 60 overall pick in fantasy drafts.
2. Owen Tippett, F
NHL.com point projection: 60
Last season, Tippett led the Flyers with the most shots on goal, recording 289 in 78 games. He also ranked second on the team for both points (53) and goals (28). Given the potential to be a 30-goal scorer if he plays a full season, Tippett should be regarded as a top 50 forward in fantasy drafts.
Tippett scores his second goal with a backhand after spinning around a defender in the DAL vs PHI game.
3. Matvei Michkov, F
NHL.com point projection: 59
Philadelphia selected Michkov as the No. 7 pick at the 2023 NHL Draft, and he is now gearing up for his debut season in the NHL. During his time with HK Sochi in the Kontinental Hockey League, he accrued 41 points from 19 goals and 22 assists in 47 matches. As one of the most promising fantasy rookies, he is a valuable addition to draft as one of the top 85 forwards overall.
4. Travis Sanheim, D
NHL.com point projection: 47
Last season, he was the fourth highest scorer on the Flyers and led their defensemen with 44 points in 81 games. Sanheim set new NHL career records for points and goals (10). He is a top 40 defenseman option in fantasy.
5. Joel Farabee, F
NHL.com point projection: 56
Farabee just had the best season of his career, scoring a personal best of 50 points in 82 games and 22 goals. He was the Flyers’ third-highest scorer and could offer substantial fantasy value if he stays fit. It’s certainly worth keeping an eye on him on the waiver wire.
Farabee initiates scoring with a breakaway in the SJS vs PHI game.
